In 2009, he co-founded Loopt, a location-based social networking company, which was later acquired by Green Dot Corporation for USD 43.4 million in cash. Before creating OpenAI, Altman was the president of a startup accelerator, Y Combinator, where he grew the company into one of the most influential in the technology industry. He was also the CEO of Reddit for a brief period of eight days in 2014.
