Using AI, Google’s ‘Interview Warmup’ Tool Helps Users Prepare for Interviews

Artificial intelligence tools like ChatGPT and Bard have revolutionized the way people approach queries in today’s world. These tools can generate detailed and comprehensive content on various topics across different disciplines with just a few simple prompts.

However, have you ever considered the possibility of using AI tools to prepare for interviews? Recently, a TikTok user named Marisa, known as @productdesign, shared a snippet of Google’s latest “Interview Warmup” tool.

Google’s Interview Warmup Tool: A Game-Changer for Interviews

The TikTok video, unfortunately inaccessible to Indian users due to the TikTok ban, starts with the overlay text “I tried Google’s new ‘interview warm-up’ tool and I want to cry.”

The user then demonstrates how the tool works. Essentially, this AI-powered tool is an interactive exercise that transcribes a user’s answers in real-time. It then provides feedback on the user’s talking points, as reported by Upworthy.

Users have the option to continue practicing the same questions or move on to new ones. Since its release, the video has gone viral, accumulating over 1.5 million views. While the tool itself appears more helpful than having a friend play the role of the interviewer, some users have raised concerns about its operation.

One user noted, “Really great feature, but they’re definitely using your voice and data to train AI models lol.” Another user expressed optimism and stated that they “loved” the tool.

“It’s cool, but be aware that they are definitely using your answers, stories, and examples to generate content for another AI tool on ‘how to answer this interview question’,” another user claimed.

Interestingly, it seems that this AI tool is directly connected to the skillsets taught in Google Career Certificates, which are online training courses designed to help users find jobs more efficiently.
