OpenAI Releases Updated DALL-E 3 AI Image Generator Upgrade Discreetly on Bing

Introducing DALL-E 3: A Game-Changing Upgrade to OpenAI’s AI Image Generator

Ten days after its announcement, DALL-E 3 has made its way to the public through Microsoft’s Image Creator tool, which is part of its browser-based AI suite.

Enhanced Images and Text Interpretation Capabilities Unveiled

Early Saturday morning, digital art creator communities on Reddit and Twitter discovered a significant improvement in images and text interpretation capabilities through Bing. This upgrade, believed to be DALL-E 3, is currently not accessible on the OpenAI website.

The Anticipation for DALL-E 3

DALL-E 3 is the highly anticipated upgrade to OpenAI’s popular DALL-E 2 AI image generator. While ChatGPT dominates the space of generative AI chatbots and text-based tools, DALL-E faces tough competition from tools like Midjourney and Stable Diffusion. A comparison between DALL-E 2 and its competitors revealed some areas where DALL-E fell short.

Promising Early Results

In July, AI art enthusiasts had the opportunity to experiment with OpenAI’s work-in-progress upgrades to DALL-E 2. YouTube influencer MattVidPro demonstrated that DALL-E 2 surpassed its predecessor and other image generators.

Impressed by the results, MattVidPro exclaimed, “This blows anything we’ve seen before out of the water, it’s insane! Midjourney cannot compete at this level—I don’t even think Midjourney version six would be able to compete at this level.”

During the technology preview, DALL-E lacked certain protections against malicious or deceptive uses, offering a fully uncensored implementation. However, the official release of DALL-E 3 came with necessary guardrails to ensure responsible usage.

Accessing DALL-E 3

Late Friday, MattVidPro revealed that a public release of DALL-E 3 was imminent. He shared that some users could gain early access via Bing Image Creator by logging in and out of their Microsoft accounts, using less common web browsers, or clearing their browser cache. As of now, these workarounds are no longer necessary.

While the version of DALL-E used in Bing Image Creator isn’t explicitly mentioned, MattVidPro provided test prompts to identify the new version. These prompts include the ability to generate readable text instead of random gibberish and the capability to depict historical figures and famous celebrities. It’s worth noting that some tools purposely limit their capabilities in this regard.

“The power of this model is hard to quantify,” MattVidPro emphasized. “DALL-E 3 is absolutely insane—this is easily the best AI image generator ever created.”

In conclusion, the release of DALL-E 3 has taken the AI art community by storm, showcasing its remarkable capabilities and outperforming its predecessors and competitors. Exciting developments like these continue to push the boundaries of what AI can achieve in the creative realm.
